The Flash Dryer system is designed to transform wet biomass—such as sawdust, bamboo dust, and sugarcane bagasse—into dry, usable material quickly and efficiently. By combining higher-moisture biomass with hot air in a controlled environment, this technology ensures optimal drying performance.
Here’s how it works: Biomass is fed through a screw conveyor where it mixes thoroughly with hot air generated by an external furnace. This hot air flows through ducts carrying the wet biomass, maintaining temperatures above 100°C. Thanks to the induced draft (ID) blower creating negative pressure throughout the system, moisture evaporates rapidly from the biomass’s surface due to prolonged contact time and large surface exposure.
The released moisture, now in steam form, travels with flue gases to the baghouse or chimney via the ID fan. Meanwhile, the dry biomass settles at the bottom of the cyclone separator and is carefully discharged through a rotary air lock valve (RAV). This continuous cycle ensures efficient moisture removal and clean collection of dried material, ready for further use.
With its seamless integration of thermal energy and airflow, the Flash Dryer optimizes productivity while handling a variety of biomass materials. It’s an elegant solution for anyone seeking reliable, cost-effective drying in biomass processing.
APPLICATION
Flash Dryer is used for Drying Biomass like sawdust, Bamboo dust, sugarcane bagasse etc.
In the Flash Dryer system, Input Biomass (with Higher Moisture) feed in a screw Conveyor mixes with hot air. Hot Air which is generated from furnace passes with wet Biomass in duct line. Due to ID Blower developed negative pressure in full system up to duct line.
Moisture liberated from biomass due to more than 100.C Temperature inside system. Due to maximum Contact time and surface area moisture evaporate and separated threw blower discharge.
At the bottom of Cyclone dry biomass collected and discharged threw RAV- rotary air lock valve. Moisture (Steam) and flue gases pass to ID fan to Bag house or Chimney.
